Course Overview
When student successfully complete this course, he/she will be able to:

know professional terminology as regards the most famous pipelines; facilities of Transneft Kosmino Port
- analize the pipeline routing (environment friendly and cost effective routes); analize the metering and measurement of oil and gas and how it works
- know professional terminology as regards visual aids: charts, graphs, and diagrams
- describe diagrams or any other type of graphs in field of knowledge "Oil and gas transportation and storage"
- know professional terminology as regards scientific aspect in hydrocarbon transportation and storage
- analize the structure and content of scientific paper
- discuss professional topics in group
- demonstrate basic communication skills by working in small group
Course will rely on some of methods to assess student learning, including:
- Text and a talk about all topics of the course:
Unit 1:
- Eastern Siberia Pacific Ocean Oil Pipeline (ESPO)
- Power of Siberia Pipeline
- International pipelines
Unit 2:Unit 4. Scientific aspect in our field of knowledge
Some tests and assignments, which may contain:
- Answering questions
- Completion tasks
- Essay questions, which ask you to write a response to a specific question or video
Be an intermediate learner of English.
Prepare and give oral presentation using visual aids.
Have basic concepts in professional area.
Grading Policy
The grading guidelines are as follows: attendance (20%), assignments (80%), in particular, preparation of topics (25%).
