Mathematical modeling of processes and devices for nuclear power plants

About the course

The course covers the basic principles of 3D modeling of parts and design of power equipment assembly units. The CAD system Siemens NX is being studied.

Particular attention is paid to the practical working with software, as well as the processes modeling: mechanical deformation of the parts; flow of liquids and gases; heat and mass transfer.

The knowledge gained in the course will help to successfully apply the basic 3D modeling skills  in project activities; use computer technology to create new equipment for power engineering industry.

Learning Outcomes

LO1. Ability to create 3D models of analyzed objects: technological processes, parts and assemblies of power equipment.

LO2. Proficiency in the finite element method: creating meshes, setting boundary conditions.

LO3. Using specialized software (CAD/CAE), conduct a study of mechanical and thermal-hydrodynamic structures in the analyzed object and correctly visualize the results.
