Practical course supporting English language learning for the 1st year students, semester 2 (all training programs)

About the course

The course is intended for developing listening, reading, writing and speaking skills, revising grammar material and increasing vocabulary on the topics concerned.
The course is developed for learning English for General Purposes by the first year students of TPU, 2nd semester. 
The required level of English is A1-B1.
The course is intended for 18 hours.

Learning outcomes

 In this course students will acquire skills that will let them:

  • get the subject matter of authentic texts on the topics discussed;
  • get the main concept of authentic radio and TV programs, lectures and conversations on the urgent problems and events;
  • prepare a public speech to solve and intercultural tasks;
  • work in teams;
  • define their own opinion via reasoning;
  • write informal personal letters and essays;
  • describe diagrams.
